FORMAFANTASMA

Formafantasma is an investigative design studio, headed by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, and based in Milan. Over the last decade, it has established a reputation as one the most innovative design practices in the world, fashioning new materials out of Sicilian lava and electronic waste, amongst other things, designing objects, spaces and exhibitions and launching a new ‘big picture’ master’s degree programme at Design Academy Eindhoven around what they call GEO-design. In 2020 their work was presented in a solo exhibition at London’s Serpentine Gallery and they picked up the Designer of the Year award from the design website Dezeen. In 2021 they were announced as Wallpaper* magazine’s Designer of the Year.

X MUSE enlisted Formafantasma to create the Helicon Workshop, a tasting room within the new X MUSE Temple at Jupiter Artland, as well as a range of glassware and sculptural displays to be used at the tasting room.
