International Day of Friendship: Celebrate With These Serves

Nothing goes together quite like alcohol and friendship do. Okay, while it might not be entirely true for everybody, what certainly is true is that a well-made cocktail gifted to someone is a wonderful way of showing your friendship toward someone. A tasteful dry martini on a summer’s night? You’ve helped each other move places before. Making it with vodka instead? You’re godparent material. Making someone an X MUSE vodka martini? Best friends for life!

The UN General Assembly established the International Day of Friendship in 2011 with the belief that friendship among peoples, nations, cultures, and individuals can motivate peace initiatives and forge linkages between social groups. The resolution emphasises getting young people involved in local initiatives that celebrate diversity, foster global awareness, and cultivate future leaders. While there is no official way of celebrating the festival, a cocktail party or even a small get-together with your close ones and some drinks is certainly as good a way as any for commemorating friendship. With that in mind, it’s worth making a drink worthy of celebration.

What Are The Best Cocktails For International Day Of Friendship?

Perfect for the summertime, our X MUSE fresh-spiration is a brilliant thirst quencher on a hot day. Full of flavour but deceptively simple to make, this vodka-based cocktail combines X MUSE vodka with italicus and soda.

A personal opinion from the X MUSE is that the cocktail tastes best when the top of the glass is buried with pink grapefruit and mint. Due to its simplicity and the limited number of components needed to make it, this is a great option for any occasion. The way the colours of mint and grapefruit combine gives the drink a real hint of festivity and celebration, making it a great fit for the international day of friendship.

Ingredients:
· 50ml X MUSE Scottish barley vodka
· 10ml Italicus
· 75ml Soda

Just combine your ingredients, give them a stir and add your garnishes.

How To Make The Perfect X MUSE Vodka Martini?

Drinks called "Moscow mules" are deliciously bubbly cocktails prepared with vodka, spicy ginger beer, and lime juice. The powerful ginger flavour in Moscow mules makes them suitable for special occasions as well as scorching summer days. Their flavours make them easy to drink since they manage to hit that elusive balance between spicy, sweet, and robust.

The process is relatively simple, in that it mostly involves stirring the liquid components together. We believe though, that there is a certain way vodka should be served. The key is ensuring that the vodka is served at the right temperature – chilled, not cold – as well as using the right garnish and drinking glass. We find that a garnish of velvet falernum goes excellently with our signature X MUSE vodka martini, and it should be drunk in a highball glass. This is sure to delight all of your friends!

Ingredients:
· 40ml X MUSE Scottish barley vodka
· 15ml Velvet Falernum
· 20ml Clear Pineapple Juice
· 10ml Simple Syrup (1:1)
· 75ml Ginger Ale

Best Cocktail To Drink During The Day Time?

Thankfully, international friendship day falls on a weekend. However, if the late hours are not for you, you may want to make a classic cocktail suited to the earlier hours of the day. This reimagined classic from cocktail maker Denis Broci, is relatively healthy, and best of all, can be drunk at any time of the day. The bloody mary certainly packs a punch when paired with X MUSE vodka, and we find for the best experience, it's best paired with a sizable basil leaf on top.

Ingredients:
· 50ml X MUSE Scottish barley vodka
· 30ml Fino Lustau Sherry
· 20ml Tomato Liquor
· 10ml Agave Syrup (2:1)
· 5 dashes Saline
· 5 dashes Green Tabasco
· 1 Ice Block
· Garnish: Basil & Grated Horseradish

Stir the ingredients and add the garnish, best served in a rock glass. The last and most important step is to sit back, relax and sip away!
